Dan Peterson, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor, South University campuses

Dan Peterson, Ph.D., is Vice Chancellor for South University campuses. In this position, Peterson oversees campus operations, directs the implementation of system-wide initiatives and leads best-practice sharing among the university’s nine campuses. Before coming to South University in 2011, Dr. Peterson served as Argosy University’s Group Vice President for its west region, a role in which he provided leadership to 10 campuses by working closely in the day-to-day operations.

Dr. Peterson has also served as an Assistant Dean at Utah State University and as an Associate Campus Director and Director of Enrollment at the University of Phoenix. He earned a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Utah State University and a MBA from the University of Phoenix. Additionally, he retired in 2008 from the Utah Air National Guard, where he served for 23 years.
