Facilities
The South University School of Pharmacy is located on the Savannah, GA campus and is housed in a 40,000 square foot, two-story free-standing building that was completed in 2004. The building, designed specifically for the School of Pharmacy, provides excellent instructional, laboratory, and office facilities for pharmacy students, faculty, and administrators.
Two large tiered lecture halls and a number of smaller classrooms facilitate large- and small-group instruction. A general-purpose laboratory includes rooms for patient counseling practice, physical assessment instruction, and sterile product preparation and storage. This practice laboratory accommodates up to 34 students per class and has been designed to emulate real practice settings. A second multi-purpose laboratory has been designed for instruction in analytical chemistry and pharmacy. In addition, a Drug Information Center on the first floor provides an active learning center for School of Pharmacy students.
Experiential sites include, but are not limited to chain and independent community pharmacies, teaching and community hospitals, long-term care facilities, managed care facilities, pharmaceutical companies, home infusion therapy companies, regulatory agencies, family practice clinics, and a veterinary hospital among others.
