Undergraduate Degree and Prerequisite Requirements
Applicants to the South University Physician Assistant Program must have earned a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution of higher learning. In addition, all prerequisite courses must be completed at a regionally accredited U.S. institution of higher learning.

Foreign Medical Graduates
Graduates of foreign medical schools are required to meet the undergraduate degree and prerequisite course requirements described above.

TOEFL
All applicants for whom English is a second language are required to take the Test for English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). There are several different formats for the test including paper, computer, and internet based options.

Minimum required scores for South University are as follows:
Paper-based test - 600
Computer-based test - 250
Internet based test - 80.

Application Process
South University's PA program participates with the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA). To apply go to www.caspaonline.org. The CASPA application process requires submission of scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and transcripts.

All applications MUST BE COMPLETE by September 1, 2008.

(Please note that CASPA is closed for administrative time for 2-4 weeks beginning April 1, 2008. During this time they do not accept new applications. If you initiate an application to the South University PA Program and do not complete it by March 31, 2008 it will not be processed by CASPA. In this case you will have to begin a new application when CASPA re-opens.
