Applying For Financial Aid
For any student, the first step in applying for financial aid is the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is a standard application used to determine your eligibility for many federal and state financial aid programs and some private scholarships, grants, and loans.
South University Federal School Code
The U.S. Department of Education assigns a number called a Federal School Code to each school that is qualified to receive and disburse federal financial aid. The South University Federal School Code number is
013039.
To begin the financial aid process, follow these steps
- Complete and return a school admissions application.
- Upon application acceptance, South University will send you an enrollment packet that contains the appropriate financial aid applications, the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), additional forms, instructions on how to complete these forms, and other information. Application is available online through FAFSA on the Web.
- Complete the financial aid application. When you complete the FAFSA, South University will receive an electronic document with your information in about a week. If you have questions about the forms, contact one of our Financial Aid Officers. A Student Financial Aid Officer will work with you and your family to devise a Student Financial Plan to help you cover your educational expenses, based on your financial aid eligibility and your family circumstances.
- You must re-apply for your financial aid each year. Application deadlines are announced each year during the Winter Term. Our Student Financial Services Department is available for students and parents. We will help you when you first apply and when you re-apply for financial aid.
