The Montgomery campus of South University is chartered as an educational institution in the state of Alabama, and is authorized under Act No. 80-272, Regular Session, Alabama Legislature, 1980, to conduct programs within the state of Alabama.
Fast Fact: South University, Montgomery is housed in a two-story building that offers a number of amenities to students, including computer and health professions labs, a library, comfortably outfitted classrooms, a student center, and bookstore.

Pride and Tradition
Montgomery is the state capital of Alabama. It is a hub of government, banking, and law as well as a state center for culture and entertainment. Montgomery is situated in the middle of the southeastern United States, and is less than a three-hour drive from Atlanta and the Gulf of Mexico.
In addition to housing many Alabama government agencies, Montgomery has a large military presence because of Maxwell Air Force Base; colleges and universities; high-tech manufacturing companies; and cultural attractions such as the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts.
Montgomery was also a major site of events in the African-American Civil Rights Movement, including the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the Selma to Montgomery marches.

Our Campus Community
South University, Montgomery students are primarily commuters who live within 50 miles of the city. They include men and women who have enrolled directly after completing high school; have transferred from another college or university; or have experience in the workforce and are pursuing an education that will prepare them to expand their current position or help them take a new professional direction.
As a student at our Montgomery college campus, you can use the library for quiet study time between classes or on the weekends. You can also use the vast amount of library resources, including books, periodicals, multimedia resources, and numerous online proprietary databases to assist in completing your coursework.
South University, Montgomery also has computer labs available for students to use while on campus. As a student, you are able to gain access to the internet, do research for homework assignments, and write papers during the time you spend on campus.
In addition, housing is available for current students. South University, Montgomery contracts with a local apartment community to provide housing to students who wish to live in an environment with other South University students. School-sponsored apartments are conveniently located adjacent to the South University, Montgomery campus.
