Description
South University’s Columbia campus began serving South Carolina students in 2002, when the campus was located in downtown Columbia at 3810 Main Street. In 2006 the campus relocated to the Carolina Research Park on the northeast side, conveniently near the I-77 and Highway 277. The campus is equipped with a wide array of technology including Macintosh and PC labs, video-conferencing tools, medical and nursing labs, and access to a variety of research databases. South University is a private academic institution dedicated to providing educational opportunities for the intellectual, social and professional development of a diverse student population.

Student Profile
The campus had a Fall 2007 enrollment of 790 students and Fall 2008 of 1,038 with nearly 60 faculty members. Approximately 15 percent of students are pursuing associate’s degrees, 60 percent of students bachelor’s degrees, and 25 percent master’s degrees. The students are young professionals seeking to advance or start new careers.

South University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. State Licensing
The South University – Columbia campus is licensed by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education to award master’s, bachelor’s and associate’s (1333 Main Street, Ste. 200, Columbia, S.C. 29201. The Columbia campus is chartered by the State of South Carolina Commission on Higher Education (Veteran Education Section) for the training of veterans and other eligible persons.
