Description
South University’s West Palm Beach campus traces its
history to 1983 when South University (then South
College) acquired Ft. Lauderdale College – Lake Worth.
The 32,000-square-foot campus totals three buildings
located at 1760 North Congress Avenue. South University
is a private academic institution dedicated to providing
educational opportunities for the intellectual, social and
professional development of a diverse student population.

Student Profile
The campus had a Fall 2007 enrollment of 645 students
and Fall 2008 of 772 with nearly 83 faculty members.
Approximately 23 percent of students are pursuing
associate’s degrees, 72 percent of students bachelor’s
degrees, and 5 percent master’s degrees. The students are
young professionals seeking to advance or start new
careers.
Accreditation
South University is accredited by the Commission on
Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
(1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097;
telephone number 404-679-4501) to award associate’s,
bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.
State Licensing
The South University, West Palm Beach campus is
licensed to confer master’s, bachelor’s, and associate of
science degrees through the Commission for Independent
Education, Florida Department of Education, 325 W.
Gaines St., Ste. 1414, Tallahassee, Fla. 32399 (850-245-
3200). The campus is approved for training veterans and
other eligible individuals by the State of Florida
Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Division of Veterans’
Benefits and Assistance, Bureau of State Approving for
Veterans’ Training.
