ATLANTA (GA) – The Art Institute of Atlanta is proud to announce general education faculty member Dana Lee has been selected by her peers as “Faculty of the Year” for 2008. Lee has been with The Art Institute of Atlanta for nine years and currently teaches transitional studies, which includes beginning algebra and college skills, as well as teaching English I.
“This is such an immense honor for me,” said Lee. “I strive to incorporate the students’ interests into the curriculum in order to make it more tangible for them. Receiving this award means that I have achieved the goals I have set for myself and for my students.”
Lee first became interested in teaching as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon where she taught English as a second language to students ranging from 6th grade through university. She earned her bachelor of arts in art history, history, and French from Agnes Scott College. Lee also has a master’s in applied linguistics from Georgia State University. This fall Lee will be work on her second master’s degree, in art history, from Georgia State University.
Lee resides in Cartersville.
