South University named Robert Bohman, Ed. D., as the Dean of Academic Affairs and Operations for the Savannah campus. Dr. Bohman brings with him over seventeen years of experience in higher education at the senior-level.
“South University has a great faculty, and having Dr. Bohman will only improve our ability to manage our faculty processes to ensure that we are consistently delivering high-quality academic programs,” said Candace Goodwin, president of South University – Savannah. “As we grow our student body and continue to grow our academic opportunities with innovative and flexible programs, such as our new accelerated MBA, the university will benefit from Dr. Bohman’s extensive experience.”
Dr. Bohman has worked in positions of increasing responsibility at Thomas University in Thomasville, Georgia, for over 14 years. He held positions in academics as well as administration, including Vice President of Student Affairs, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and as the Chair of the Division of Education / Full Professor teaching courses in American History, Special Topics, and Ethics. Most recently he served as the Chief Student Affairs Officer at Bowling Green Technical College in Kentucky.
He has significant experience in implementing accreditation and state agency regulations, faculty orientation, registrar supervision, maintaining admissions standards, student service policy and procedures, academic scheduling, and faculty supervision and evaluation.
Dr. Bohman earned both a bachelor of science in education and a master of science in teaching from Georgia Southern University and his doctorate in higher education administration from Nova Southeastern University.
