Description
South University’s Montgomery campus began serving Alabama students over 100 years ago. In 2002, the campus relocated to a 26,000 square foot, two-story building on 3.75 acres on Montgomery’s growing east side. The campus is outfitted with wireless technology, a student center, medical lab, nursing lab, physical therapist assisting lab, computer lab and library with access to a variety of research databases. In 2010, the campus expanded with an 18,000-square-foot addition and began offering a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program.
State Licensing
The Montgomery campus of South University is chartered as an educational institution in the state of Alabama, and is authorized under Act No. 80-272, Regular Session, Alabama Legislature, 1980, to conduct programs within the state of Alabama.
Program Accreditation

State Licensing
South University – Montgomery is chartered as an educational institution in the state of Alabama and is authorized under Act Number 2004-282, Regular Session, Alabama Legislature, 2004, to conduct programs within the state of Alabama. The University is authorized by the State Approving Agency to train veterans under chapters 31, 34 and 35.
Student Profile
The campus had a Fall 2010 enrollment of 661 students and a Spring 2011 enrollment of 665 students with nearly 80 faculty members. Approximately 41 percent of students are pursuing associate’s degrees, 51 percent bachelor’s degrees, and 8 percent master’s degrees. The students are young professionals seeking to advance or start new careers.
