South University and its branch campuses comprise a private academic institution dedicated to providing educational opportunities for the intellectual, social, and professional development of a diverse student population. The core curriculum is broad-based and promotes critical thinking, effective verbal and written communication, and skills for life-long learning.

South University’s approach to higher education and the resulting varied academic experiences provide students with the intellectual acumen and pragmatic approach necessary to create the foundation for personal and professional fulfillment. The university provides a learning environment, both on-campus and online, that helps students identify goals and the means to achieve them. Student Profile

The university had a Fall 2010 enrollment of 22,563 students, and a Spring 2011 enrollment of 23,764 students, with over 280 full-time and over 1,500 adjunct faculty members. Approximately 42 percent of students are pursuing associate’s degrees, 47 percent bachelor’s degrees, 9 percent master’s degrees, 2 percent doctoral degrees. The students are predominantly female, 73 percent, and are young professionals, average age 33, seeking to advance or begin new careers.
