Trisha M. Earls, J.D., has been named Vice President of Human Resources at South University. As vice president for human resources at South University, Earls will execute talent strategies across the six-campus university system and will collaborate with campus presidents to oversee daily human resource operations and the administration of human resource policies and procedures.
Earls comes to South University after serving the Savannah College of Art and Design for two years as Vice President for Human Resources, where she led the redesign and launch of a web-based performance management system that focused on teaching and leadership proficiencies and could monitor outcomes.
“Ms. Earls’ professional history includes a rare combination of employment law and human resource management in corporate and higher education organizations,” said John South, chancellor of South University. “Her experience includes a long list of proven successes in organizational development and policy implementation, and I know South University will benefit from her expertise as we grow our programs and recruit the right talent for our new campuses.”
Earls graduated with honors from The Ohio State University College of Law where she received her Juris Doctor degree in 1995. Prior to law school, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the College of Charleston in 1992.
For six years post law school, Earls litigated labor and employment cases for Fisher & Phillips, LLP, in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2001, she began working in human resources for Equifax, Inc., also in Atlanta, where she served as Vice President of Human Resources. Today, she remains a member of the Georgia Bar in the Labor and Employment Law section.
