South University Names New Dean of Student Affairs

Heather Rae Goodwin has been named Dean of Student Affairs for the Tampa campus of South University. In this new position for the growing campus, Goodwin will oversee student housing, counseling and conduct, as well as student life programs and disability services.
“South University recognizes that the success of our students is directly tied to effective teaching that is complemented by strong student life programming,” said Dr. Dan Coble, president of South University in Tampa. “For our diverse, growing student body, Heather Godwin has the leadership skills we need to integrate the academic experience and every other aspect of the life of a college student.”
Goodwin comes to South University with nine years experience in student affairs. For the past three years, she has been Assistant Director of Residence Life at Berry College, Mt. Berry, Ga. Additional experience includes student affairs positions at the Atlanta and Savannah campuses of Savannah College of Art and Design, as well as at Emory and Henry College, Emory, Va., and at The University of Georgia. She received the M.Ed. in College Student Affairs Administration from The University of Georgia.
