New Flexible and Accelerated MBA

Thursday, October 08, 2009

South University and The Art Institute of Atlanta announced today a new MBA program designed for people with bachelor-level degrees in any discipline. The Accelerated Master of Business Administration (AMBA) is designed to be completed in twelve months, and students can begin the program at the beginning of any month of the year, except December. The program design offers students the ability to begin their MBA coursework at eleven entry points during the year and complete the program at any time of the year.

Classes, which began September 30, are offered in a blended format, where a portion of the coursework is completed online and a portion in the classroom, which is held on alternating Saturdays at The Art Institute of Atlanta campus on Peachtree Dunwoody Road. This program is ideal for professionals who cannot stop working to pursue graduate-level studies and who need to save time for studying, not traffic.

“This accelerated MBA program was conceived for the student who may have a bachelor’s degree in any field and now, after entering their workplace, understands how business education could enhance their career opportunities,” said Steve Yoho, Ph.D., dean of the college of business. “Sometimes professionals with liberal arts or fine arts degrees, or degrees in humanities, may feel some apprehension about entering an MBA program because they lack undergraduate academic training in business. Understanding this particular concern, we have designed a gateway course, as the first course, to provide all students a basic business background and help them succeed in the MBA program.”

Applications are currently being accepted. For additional information go to www.southuniversity.edu/amba or call 800-952-4491.
