South University announces Lynne Haines as Assistant Chancellor for Human Resources

SAVANNAH, Ga. (Feb. 20, 2012)  – South University Chancellor John T. South, III, announced today that Lynne Haines has been named the university’s Assistant Chancellor for Human Resources. Haines, who will report to the Chancellor, will oversee all human resources functions for South University, including recruitment, training, succession planning, performance management, employee relations, and other responsibilities.

“As the university opens new campuses and expands programs, we continue to hire faculty and staff to maintain the level of personal attention and academic rigor that our students need and expect,” said Chancellor South. “Ms. Haines has the background to help us manage that growth and to make sure that South University continues to be a great place to work as well as a great place to learn.”

A longtime resident of the Savannah area, Haines comes to South University from The Savannah Bancorp, where she served as Vice President, Director of Human Resources. Before that she worked as a Human Resources Manager for Cahaba GBA, a subsidiary of  Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama. In addition, Ms. Haines worked for Family and Children Services in Savannah as Personnel Manager.

Haines earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Science from Georgia Southern University. She has been a campaign leader for the United Way of the Coastal Empire, and continues to assist as a member of the allocation committee.
