Friday, June 18, 2010

South University will confer degrees on 175 students on Saturday, June 19, at 2:00 p.m. at the Koger Center for the Arts in Columbia. Frank Fusco, executive director of the South Carolina Budget and Control Board, will deliver the commencement address. Degrees will be awarded at the associate, bachelor’s, or master’s levels in ten programs, including business administration, information technology, healthcare administration, medical assisting, professional counseling, criminal justice and more.

In addition to diplomas, the university will award 14 outstanding graduate awards. Graduates are selected by Program Directors based on a variety of criteria including academic success and contribution to the program.

“Seeing South University students become graduates is a moving and memorable experience, no matter how many commencements I attend,” said Brad Kauffman, president of South University. “I am impressed with the Class of 2010. Each of these graduates has had to make tough choices to stay in school, and earning their degrees demonstrates a high-level of commitment.”
