South University - Columbia names new Dean of Academic Affairs

South University - Columbia welcomes Dennis McElhoe, Ph.D., as the new Dean of Academic Affairs. As Dean of Academic Affairs in Columbia, Dr. McElhoe is responsible for the university's academic operations, to include faculty orientation, development and evaluation, and facility utilization, which includes a new nursing skills lab for the university's professional nursing program.

"Dr. McElhoe is certainly a welcome addition to the Columbia campus," said President Anne Patton. "We have many new programs and specializations in the pipeline, and I know his leadership will make a positive impact with our students and our faculty."

Dr. McElhoe joins the university from Purdue University, where he most recently served as the Associate Director of Continuing Education. He brings with him many years of management experience. He worked as Coordinator of Distance Learning and Senior Training Specialist at Purdue University and in management at Subaru-Isuzu Automotive, Inc. He also held managerial positions at Ivy Tech State College in Indiana.

He holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction and a M.S. in Education - Higher Education Administration from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
