South University – Columbia names new Dean of Student Affairs

South University announced today that Jon Driggers has been named Dean of Student Affairs. Driggers joined the University during the Fall Quarter filling the position vacated by Brad Kauffman, when he was named Campus President, and brings with him over 10 years of experience in higher education student services.
"Since joining South University, Mr. Driggers has been busy establishing great relationships with students, staff and faculty here in Columbia," said Brad Kauffman, President of South University. "Our Winter Quarter enrollment is over 1250 students, and I am glad to have him on board to ensure our students receive the support they need to be successful. Mr. Driggers has wasted no time in establishing positive rapport with faculty, staff, and most importantly our students."
Driggers most recently was the Dean of Student Affairs at Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina, where he oversaw the assessment, planning, evaluation, and implementation of the Campus Life Department. He also brings experience from Clemson University, where as the Area Coordinator he was responsible for managing a 138 apartments and townhouses and supervising a 39 student staff members.
He also has taught several courses in student success and first-year experience including, Life & Career Planning, University Success Skills, Achieve Academic Success, and facilitated several Human Potential Retreats. Driggers has extensive student advising experience and is the member of several professional organizations such as the American
College Personnel Association and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators. He is the President-elect for the South Carolina College Personnel Association. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Studies from Lander University and a Master of Arts in Student Development from Appalachian State University.
