South University confers 465 degrees

Friday, December 18, 2009

South University will confer 465 degrees this Saturday, December 19 at 2:30 p.m. at the Johnny Mercer Theatre in the Savannah Civic Center. For the fourth time in the university's more than 100-year history, South University will celebrate a winter commencement. Administrators, faculty and staff will gather with students and their family and friends to hear Arnold Tenenbaum, Chair of South University's Board of Trustees, deliver the commencement address.

"Graduation is such an important milestone," said Todd Cellini, president of South University. "And even in tough economic times, we know that these graduates will have brighter futures because of the commitment they made to purse a college education. I expect that Mr. Tenenbaum's experience and perspective will be beneficial for all of us as we prepare for 2010."

The South University graduates are earning master's, bachelor's, and associate degrees in more than over 12 different fields of study including: anesthesia sciences, business administration, criminal justice, nursing, professional counseling, and physical therapist assisting. Those students earning master's-level degrees will receive their academic hoods in a preliminary ceremony at 10:00 a.m. in the Johnny Mercer Theatre.
