Wednesday, October 29, 2008

South University is introducing an Accelerated Master of Business Administration (AMBA) at its Savannah and Montgomery campuses. Classes begin this Winter Quarter - Jan. 12, 2009. The AMBA program is designed around the working professional and may be completed in less than a year. The program offers Saturday class schedules, the flexibility of beginning at any quarter, a class schedule of two Saturdays per month, and a combination of classroom and online learning modalities for every course.

"This is a key program for working students," said Steven Yoho, Ph.D., dean of the college of business for South University. "The Accelerated Master of Business Administration delivers the academic focus that these professionals need in a program that is designed to leverage their work experience with a curriculum that blends theory and practice."

The AMBA is a 48-quarter hour program, consisting of 12 courses. Supplementing South University's qualified faculty, guest speakers from a variety of industries will participate in each course. Students are required to have a bachelor's degree and five years business experience.

"Innovative curriculum designs that blend classroom and online education to meet the needs of working, career-minded students are the future of higher education," said John T. South, III, chancellor of South University. "At South University, we are always looking ahead and finding new methods for making higher education and advanced degrees a reality for those who see the need, value the education and want to make a commitment to learning."

South University's AMBA provides a firm grounding in all business disciplines and presents a general management perspective to the long-run and short-run decisions and leadership that must be made to deliver goods and services to customers.
