South University Names Christine Bouchard, ARNP, MSN Tampa Nursing Program Director

South University has named Christine Bouchard, ARNP, MSN, Nursing Program Director for its Tampa, Fla. campus. Bouchard brings both university-level teaching experience and professional experience in the field of nursing.

Prior to joining South University, Bouchard served as Deputy Director of Occupational Health Nursing at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Her responsibilities included teaching undergraduate, graduate and continuing education courses including managing graduate clinical seminars and providing clinical supervision to Nurse Practitioner students.

Earlier in her career, she served in university teaching positions as a clinical instructor at Hillsborough Community College and as a visiting instructor and adjunct faculty member at the University of South Florida.

Prior to entering nursing education, Bouchard served as an occupational health nurse and as an advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. In addition, she served as a staff nurse and case manager for home health care performing home visits and in-home private duty shifts for adult and pediatric medical-surgical populations. Earlier in her career, she served as a staff nurse in adult Nephrology and Urology at the University Hospital in London, Ontario, Canada.

Bouchard is the author of numerous post-graduate research projects and holds licenses as a Board Certified Adult Advance Practice Registered Nurse, Board Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist, Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationalist, National Institute on Drug Abuse Certified Collector, NIOSH-Approved Spirometry Course, OSHA/MSHA Recordkeeping Course, BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Bouchard received a bachelor of arts in honors English Language and Literature from the University of Western Ontario, a M.P.H. Environmental and Occupational Health and a master of science in Adult Health Nursing from the University of South Florida, and is currently completing her Ph.D. focusing on Literacy and Occupational Health.
