South University – Savannah names new Dean of Student Affairs

South University announced today that Kari Pahno has been named Dean of Student Affairs. Pahno joined the University in January 2007 and brings with her over 10 years of experience in operations, career coaching, and higher education.
"Ms. Pahno has developed into a student centered professional who will continue to lead student success initiatives that will have a positive impact on our students," said Todd Cellini, president of South University. "Our Winter Quarter enrollment is over 1400 students, and I am glad to have her on board to ensure our students receive the support they need to be successful including the implementation of new student mentoring program and continued development of the Academic Success Center, where our students are provided tutoring."
Pahno most recently was the Associate Dean of Student Affairs at South University, where she oversaw the assessment, planning, evaluation, and implementation of the Housing, Orientation, and Graduation programs. She also has taught several life skills workshops on topics such as, note taking, time management, learning styles and stress management.
Prior to joining South University, Pahno was the Director of Operations for PreStar Financial Corporation where she managed the recruiting, hiring, and training for a staff of x and a $1.5 million annual budget. She is a certified coaching consultant and has provided career assessment and planning for executives and professionals during career transitions.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University Southern Maine and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Argosy University.
