The Savannah campus of South University is the original campus founded in 1899. Aspirational students looking to overcome challenges and succeed may find a place here among our supportive faculty and staff. It’s a small, intimate campus with a true college feel with open lawns and ample parking. The campus has three main buildings and library that are easy to navigate. To help care for our students’ well-being, we offer wellness events and meditation sessions. Students may also support the community through local outreach and partnerships with organizations such as United Way, Goodwill, Chamber of Commerce, Renegade Paws Dog Rescue, and JC Lewis Healthcare to name a few.
Bus route 27 supports our public transit students and it’s located just off Harry S. Truman Parkway. The Wassaw National Wildlife Refuge, Forsyth Park, Savannah History Museum, and many other historic attractions are all a short drive away from campus.
As the flagship campus, a majority of our programs are delivered on-site at Savannah. Some of our programs are delivered entirely online, while others are taught in a hybrid* format of online learning and in-person classroom discussion. Regardless of which degree you choose to pursue, the faculty and staff of the Savannah campus are ready to lend you their support. The Savannah campus offers degree programs in areas such as Business & Technology, Counseling & Psychology, Criminal Justice and Legal Studies, Healthcare, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Administration, and Public Health. *Although hybrid offered courses are available in-person or online, this program still requires Clinical courses to be conducted in person and on-site. We cannot guarantee flexibility in these components of the program.

What attractions are near the campus?
Located in Savannah, Georgia, the campus is close to a number of historic and unique attractions. Students can explore Forsyth Park, River Street, and the Savannah Historic District, or take weekend trips to nearby Tybee Island. The city also offers a thriving arts scene, local festivals, and a variety of dining and shopping options.
How close is the campus to downtown Savannah or local landmarks?
South University’s Savannah campus is just 15 minutes from downtown Savannah. It’s easily accessible from major roads, making it convenient for students commuting from across the region.
Is parking available?
Yes, parking for over 400 people is available on-site for students, faculty, and visitors.
What public transportation options exist?
Public transportation in Savannah is provided by Chatham Area Transit (CAT) (https://www.catchacat.org/ ). Several CAT bus routes serve the area around Mall Boulevard, offering students a convenient way to commute to campus. CAT also provides real-time tracking and a mobile app for trip planning.

What student support services are available on campus?
The Savannah campus offers a wide range of student support services, including:
- Admissions office to help with onboarding new students

- Nursing Skills Simulation Lab with high fidelity mannequins

Does the campus have a library, lounge, or tutoring center?
Yes. The Savannah campus features an on-campus and virtual library, manned by our long-time librarian of over 40 years! The library also has study rooms available for students to reserve in advance for group projects or study sessions. Our Welcome Center has a small computer lab for student use, with printing and copy options available in both our library and computer labs.
Are internships available through local businesses?
Yes. The Career Services department helps students connect with internship opportunities in Savannah’s healthcare, business, and public service sectors. The Memorial Health System, St. Joseph’s/Candler Health, and local Walgreens/CVS are the most common partners students may work with for their career development.
Is the campus wheelchair accessible?
Yes. South University’s Savannah campus is fully wheelchair accessible and complies with ADA standards. Students needing accommodations can work with the campus’ Disability Services office.
What safety measures are in place on campus?
The Savannah campus follows South University’s safety protocols, including:

What dining options are available?
South University does not offer on-campus dining; however, the Savannah campus does have student and faculty lounges that offer vending machines snacks and other lunch options. Food trucks visit the campus every Wednesday with outdoor seating available. Our Welcome Center has fresh popcorn every day. Beyond the campus boundaries, Savannah is home to a variety of dining options including Southern comfort food and seafood to international cuisine and fast-casual favorites near the campus and throughout the city.
