To Prospective Students and Your Families:

I would like to welcome you to South University's Tampa, Florida campus, the fifth campus of South University and its second in Florida.

The Tampa campus of South University, which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), opened on June 26, 2006. The following programs are offered on the Tampa campus:

• Associate of Science in Physical Therapist Assisting
• Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
• Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
• Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management
• Bachelor of Science in Health Science
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• RN to BSN Completion
• Master of Science in in Physician Assistant Studies

The healthcare programs focus on areas in critical need of qualified graduates to enter the healthcare profession. Our business program is designed to prepare graduates to enter a variety of management positions in business, education, healthcare, government, or manufacturing. Classes are offered in modern, comfortable, well-equipped classrooms on the campus or may be taken in combination with online courses.

Before joining South University, I served as Executive Director of the Florida Board of Nursing where I was responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating work related to the licensure of nurses, certified nursing assistants, regulation of nursing practice and other functions of the Board of Nursing. In addition, I have served as an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Tampa and have worked as Director of Patient Services, Medical/Surgical Nursing, Nurse Manager, Pediatrics and Staff Nurse in the Pediatric ICU at Tampa General Hospital.

Through this experience, I have recognized that the growing need for high-quality healthcare professionals is going to continue to expand, particularly in Florida and specifically in the Tampa area.

South University has an outstanding reputation for educating students in the Health Sciences, Nursing, and Business and we have brought that expertise to Tampa. Look for additional programs to be offered on the Tampa campus in the near future.
