Campolo will oversee all College of Health Professions operations at South University’s eleven campuses across the U.S. and its online programs. The College of Health Professions houses eleven undergraduate and graduate programs in areas that include both occupational and physical therapy, anesthesia science, clinical mental health counseling, physician assistant and more.
Prior to joining South University, Dr. Campolo served as Associate Dean of Interprofessional Education at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, as well as Chair of its Department of Physical Therapy and as an Associate Professor with tenure. He has also chaired both the Doctor of Physical Therapy program and the Department of Sports Sciences at Seton Hall University, along with serving as a faculty member. Dr. Campolo began his academic career as an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
In addition to his academic career, Dr. Campolo has also worked in the healthcare ind
ustry with a focus on physical therapy. He served as Director of Physical Therapy at two centers in New York City before opening his own Orthopedic, Sports and Physical Therapy Clinic in Manhattan. Dr. Campolo earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Health Science from the Seton Hall University School of Graduate Medical Education, his Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology from Adelphi University, and his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Hunter College in New York, New York. He also earned an Associate of Science in Pre-Physical Therapy from Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York.
Campolo began his duties at South University August 1, 2017.
