Students Weigh in on The Technical Support Center at South University Online Programs

by South University
December 12, 2011

In our final post in the series showcasing student responses to our “Fantastic Fall” contest, students share their thoughts on the Technical Support Center in the Campus Common and on the Technical Support team in general. Here’s a sample:

I have had to use Technical Support on several occasions in the online classroom. I think that this is a wonderful tool to have because if like some, you are not very computer savvy, you always have someone to help you with the technical aspects of your computer that you may or may not understand. They can help you with a lot of different aspects of your computer. Every time I have had to use Technical Support, I have been greeted, helped, and treated with the upmost respect and sincerity. I think this is a great thing to have available to students.—Misty Miller, BA in Psychology

The Technical Support Center is very beneficial to all South University students, whether they know their way around a computer or don't. The Technical Support page helps in many ways. There is a long list of tutorials from clearing your cache to checking your memory and hard drive, to using the school VitalSource screen reader. The plethora of topics that are covered under this section of tutorials is amazing. It’s like having your own geek squad with you at school. You can purchase Microsoft or use the free trial version, and it gives you a list and a description of what a plug in is and lists the recommended ones for your computer. For a student that hasn't yet taken Computer Literacy and doesn't know what a plug in is, this is a great place to get it and understand exactly what it is. Anything that is necessary for the proper functioning of your computer and to help you achieve success at South University is all right here in this section. –Stephanie Malone, BS in Health Science

The Technical Support Center is very helpful when you are having issues with your computer or technical problems on South’s website. Being an online student, it is very important to be able to access my classroom and other resources on the Campus Common. I have had to use Technical Support on a few occasions. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. They showed great patience while they walked me through the process. They know their stuff! I am going into my final year at South, I couldn’t have made it without their help. Kudos to the Technical Support Center and staff. –Linda Miller, BS in Healthcare Management

Technical Support has helped me in the past and I plan on using it in the future. I was having trouble logging onto one of my classes and after not even 5 min I was able to figure out why! They are very nice, supportive, and help so much! I will definitely use them in the future because of how quickly and great service I got the first time! I recommend it to everyone! I also have learned a lot just by going through and reading the FAQ and other resources they have. –Brooke Martin, AS in Criminal Justice

We hope you’ve enjoyed this look at some of the resources available to students in the Campus Common!
