“My work has finally paid off.”

That’s how South University alumnus Chukwunyere Uchenna Eze feels when he takes stock of his life and career. Eze came to the United States when he was 18, and says he learned to be independent and work hard before he entered school.

When it was time to advance his education to the next level, he chose South University’s Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration program.

“I worked full time and went to school full time,” Eze recalls. “I was motivated when my son joined the family and I made a promise to be a great role model to him. Working full time and mixing that with school was very challenging, but I got through it.”

Now Eze is employed as a supervisor with Lynn Community Health Center in Lynn, Massachusetts. His duties include facilitating compliance with all state, federal and local regulations, and making sure processes involving patients are effective. In his leadership role he also hires, evaluates and supervises front desk and call center employees.

“I wanted to make a difference in the lives of my staff as well as patients,” Eze says. “South University provided me with the right resources and tools.”

Eze’s advice for current students is direct.

“Never give up. Dream big, follow through and work hard towards it. The end result is all worth it.”

South University Introduces Two Accelerated MBA Programs

by South University
August 12, 2015

South University is excited to announce that two new programs are now accepting applications in the College of Business: the Accelerated Master of Business Administration (AMBA) program and the Accelerated Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration (AMBA HCA).* Both programs are Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)-accredited.

If you’re ready to take on the challenge of building your business acumen and earning your MBA in as little as 1 year, now South University can help. These fast-paced business master’s degree programs are designed for individuals serious about continuing their professional development and enhancing the value they bring to their organizations.

Our accelerated MBA programs can teach you how to manage what’s commonly called ‘VUCA’ in the business world—the volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of today’s fast-paced business environments.

An Accelerated MBA Program for Business Professionals

Our AMBA (accelerated MBA) program can help you to refine both the quantitative and qualitative skills that are imperative to success in business. As a whole, the 12 business courses that make up the AMBA program provide a comprehensive professional development experience in which you can grow your business expertise in the areas of human resources, finance, logistics, marketing, ethics and more. Throughout the program, you’ll find a strong focus on building your decision-making, communication and organizational leadership skills.

An Accelerated MBA Program for Healthcare Leaders

Ideal for those with prior experience in the healthcare field, the Accelerated MBA in Healthcare Administration program is designed to prepare you for a leadership role in the medical industry and to provide a firm grounding in the economics, decision making, behavioral sciences, and strategic environment of the healthcare field. Flexible, yet intensive, this 12-month program instills strong business competencies and leadership skills, while also helping you to develop knowledge on specialized healthcare areas such as healthcare policy, structures, financial management, governance and quality performance.

Flexible Learning Options to Fit Your Schedule

With South University’s accelerated MBA programs, you can choose to learn fully online or blend the online and campus experience. With the campus programs, courses will be held on select weekends and supplemented with online learning, synchronized conference calls and web-based meetings. These programs are available at South University, Savannah; South University, Columbia; and South University, Atlanta Learning Site.

In the fully online experience, students will discover a cohesive learning experience united by one overarching business project. As a student, you’ll be introduced to this project in your very first class—a class in which you’ll develop a personal and professional development plan and be matched to a faculty mentor with whom you’ll meet virtually to discuss your professional goals and how they relate to your MBA program.

During this first course, you’ll also be assigned to a project team of like-minded business students, with whom you’ll work to complete your final project and related assignments. From then on, each of your courses will be tied back to the overarching business project, creating an academic experience where business concepts and ideas have clear relevancy to tangible real-world projects and outcomes.

In both the online and campus accelerated MBA programs, you can gain stronger skills in collaboration and discussion, discover the benefits of hearing and considering diverse ideas, and build strong relationships with fellow ambitious business professionals who may become important networking contacts for you in the future.
