On September 12, 2025, South University’s Vice Chancellor and Provost, Dr. Gil Singletary, delivered the closing keynote panel discussion at the prestigious Higher Education Partnership Network (HEPN) Miami Conference. The session, “Redefining Value Through Partnership and Innovation,” brought together thought leaders from across higher education to explore how collaboration, integration, and innovation are shaping the future of universities.

The Power of Partnerships

He highlighted the ways South University prioritizes relationship-driven processes, working closely with academic partners, industry leaders, and community stakeholders to expand opportunities for students and strengthen institutional impact.

“Partnerships are not just about creating connections,” Dr. Singletary shared. “They are about nurturing relationships over time so they provide real value for our students, faculty, and communities.”

Supporting International Students Through Integration

Another key focus of Dr. Singletary’s talk was the importance of integration, embracement and acceptance, especially for international students. Many of these students are not only navigating a new culture but are also first-generation college students. Dr. Singletary underscored South University’s commitment to fostering partnerships that help international students feel at home in the U.S. and supported in their educational journeys.

“At South University, we believe integration means ensuring that every student—no matter their background—has the resources, support, and sense of belonging needed to succeed,” Dr. Singletary said.
