A Great Day at South University!

June 25, 2012!

June 17th, 2012 was a warm, sunny day in Savannah, Georgia and for more than 600 students, it was one of the biggest days of their lives – graduation day.

The ceremony was held at the Savannah International Trade and Convention center in front of more than 6,000 guests there to see their loved ones reach an important milestone.

As the Savannah Brass Band played the processional, graduates of the Colleges of Business, Pharmacy, Arts & Sciences, Nursing & Public Health and Health Professions made their way into the auditorium, smiling for the pictures their friends & family were snapping along the way.

The keynote address was delivered by State Senator Earl “Buddy” Carter, chair to the Higher Education Committee of the Georgia State Senate and encouraged the graduates to become leaders in their communities.

As the graduates and their loved ones filed out into the warm breezes on the promenade adjacent the Savannah River, I thought the day could best be summed up by Terry Sue Rosen, a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, who said “this is just so special to be here, this is a day I’ll never forget, just to see the culmination of all of the hard work, it’s incredible!”
