Nurses Week is a celebration of the tireless nurses who work to provide compassionate care to patients across the many areas of healthcare. History of Nurses Week
Nurses Day was first instituted in 1982 on May 6. In 1990, the celebration was expanded to be an entire week, now covering May 6 – 12. Modern nursing has its roots among two women who revolutionized the concept of nursing into what we know it today: Florence Nightingale and Clara Barton.
