Meet South University Psychology Alum, Regimia Williams
In 2025, Regimia Williams earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology online from South University, Montgomery. The degree was a long time coming. It had been a goal of hers for years, but life kept getting in the way. Still, Regimia is resilient and dedicated, and she is now a proud South University graduate!A Grad Who Never Gave Up
Regimia first attended South University in 2006 and again in 2008, but life circumstances required her to withdraw before she could finish. As the years passed and she worked various jobs, the plan to earn a degree remained in the back of her mind. In 2019, Regimia’s mother passed away. Not long before she passed, she encouraged Regimia to return to school and complete what she started. Soon after, Regimia attempted to go back, but the timing still wasn’t right. In 2023, however, things aligned, and Regimia got back to work on her degree. While she still encountered some personal challenges during the program, Regimia stuck with it, thanks in part to the strong support system around her.
“The staff and faculty are committed to helping students,” she says. “They are supportive, approachable, and genuinely invested in my success. Whenever I’ve had questions or needed guidance, they’ve been willing to help and provide encouragement. The guidance I received helped me grow personally, mentally, and academically.”
With her prior credits (and a lot of hard work!), Regimia completed her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology online with honors in a little over 2 years. “South University meets you where you are,” she says. “While attending school, I was working two jobs and had a baby. It was a very demanding time in my life, but the support and understanding I received helped me stay focused and keep moving forward.”
Pursuing Her Goals While Helping Others Do the Same
Studying Psychology helped Regimia become a better communicator and acquire the tools to help motivate others to change their lives as well. “I chose Psychology because I’ve always been someone people turn to for advice, support, and motivation,” Regimia explains. “I realized I wanted to deepen my understanding and gain the proper education to truly help others in a meaningful way.”Not long after graduating, Regimia began putting her degree to work after accepting a role as an Admissions Representative for South University’s online programs. She knew how much her degree had impacted her, and she wanted to support others in pursuing their goals.
As an Admissions Representative, Regimia coaches adults through decisions around their educational journeys. She guides them through the admissions process and the transition to becoming students. She excels at building relationships with everyone she supports and was recently nominated for an Alumni Achievement Award for her work.
“My advice for current students is to take full advantage of the resources available to you,” Regimia says. “Don’t be afraid to ask questions, reach out to your instructors, or use tutoring and academic support services when you need them. Stay organized, manage your time wisely, and don’t wait until you’re overwhelmed to ask for help.”
And Regimia is still working on her own growth and career plans. Last year, she enrolled in a Master of Arts in Sociology program with an emphasis in Higher Education. She’s currently on track to graduate in fall 2026. As she looks to the future, Regimia wants to use her skills to help people to continue growing personally and professionally. Eventually, she plans to transition into a corporate training, employee development, or learning and development role, where she assists people in building confidence, new skills, and career success.
