“I have a dream to become a renowned cardiovascular travelling nurse, a dream to touch the lives of many patients throughout the world with nursing,” says Theophilus (Theo) Gogo, a 2015 graduate of South University, Online Programs.
After earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, Theo looks back on his experience with gratitude. “The faculty and staff of this wonderful institution do not only stir up professionalism but also set students up for future success,” he says.
In 2015, Theo was named one of the recipients of the Emerging Nurses of South University Scholarship from the Education Foundation. Previously, in May 2014, Theo was also recognized by being inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Outside of school, Theo also volunteers at soup kitchens in his community.
Originally from Ghana, Theo plans to eventually return to West Africa after he has gained experience in nursing practice in the United States. In Ghana, he hopes to not only practice nursing but also to educate others in the field. The scholarship, he says, will help him to achieve his dreams and aspirations of “the service of humankind.”
