As far back as she can remember, Christine Greenwood has always been passionate about pursuing a life of service and a career in the field of law. When she tried jobs in other fields, her heart, she says, was never in it. Only when doing working related to law did she feel to be in her element.

When she completed a certificate program in Paralegal Studies at a school near her home, she was excited to be back on the path she wanted. Even after earning her certificate, however, Christine wanted to do more. This time, she found South University, Online Programs and enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies program.

“I wanted an online program so I was not confined to work at a pace set by someone else,” she says. “I really felt lucky to find South University!”

At South University, Christine has found her courses well-rounded and challenging. Throughout her program, she has maintained good grades and been on the President’s List four times. During the time in which she’s been working on her degree, she has also obtained several Westlaw Next training certificates related to legal research. In 2015, Christine received the South University Path to Graduation Scholarship from the Education Foundation in recognition and support of her educational commitment.

”I take my work, grades and education in general very seriously,” says Christine. “I wholeheartedly feel that you get out of your education what you put into it.”

Christine is appreciative of the faculty and staff she’s encountered at South University, particularly her Admissions Representative, Academic Counselor, and Student Finance Counselor. “I cannot say enough awesome things about them,” she says. “They have listened to me rant, cry and have laughed with me throughout my time at South University and I am thankful to them for that. I am truly going to miss having them in my life when I am finished my degree."

Currently, Christine is a Notary Signing Agent and a commissioned Notary Public in the State of Pennsylvania, regularly finding opportunities to help others in need. “I have utilized my being a Notary Public by providing traveling Notary services for those who are hospitalized, in assisted living, and similar situations,” she explains.

Christine plans to complete her program at South University by the end of this year and to soon apply to Temple University Beasley School of Law. “I am excited for what the future may hold but I am also saddened to see my time at South University end,” she says. “I will always remember it as a positive highlight in my life, one then enabled me to obtain knowledge, experience and friendships. I find it difficult to articulate accurately how much I have enjoyed my time at South University, and I will always recommend South University to anyone who will listen!”

Programs, credential levels, technology, and scheduling options vary by school and are subject to change. Not all online programs are available to residents of all U.S. states.
