Student Services

Welcome to South University Office of Student Affairs. We’re here to help you make the most of your experience, so we offer the following services. If you’re ever in need of advice, information, or career counseling, this is the place to come.

South University Bookstores
South University’s campus bookstores offer all the necessary books, school supplies, and official South University logo apparel and merchandise, like hooded sweatshirts, T-shirts, pullovers, and tote bags. You can also return your unmarked books by mid-term to receive a campus credit (with receipt). The price of books and supplies is not included in tuition. You also can visit the South University gift shop to buy items online.

To ensure your academic success during your time at South University, you may be required to take a placement test. These tests are administered by the Office of Student Affairs and include university-administered admissions exams, such as the Accuplacer exam, and academic placement tests (in Algebra and English, for example) deemed necessary based on SAT and/or ACT scores. Also, if English is not your first language, you may need to take an English proficiency test to ensure the best start to your academic career (see full admissions information for details).

Before your first day of class, South University holds University-wide orientation sessions at each of its campuses. These sessions will provide you with an overview of South University academic policies, faculty and staff resources, and registration procedures. During orientation, you finalize your schedule, purchase books, obtain your parking permit, and have your photo taken for your student ID. If you’re a graduate student, specialized sessions are held for most degree programs.

South University Counseling Services
Counseling services are available to assist students in resolving academic, career, and personal issues. University personnel help students plan their education programs and offer assistance in adjusting to the demands of university-level studies. Personal counseling is provided to any student who seeks aid and is available on all campuses during the day and evening hours by appointment.

South University Disability Services
South University is committed to providing qualified students with a disability an equal opportunity to access the benefits, rights, and privileges of college services, programs, and activities in compliance with The Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Students who believe they are in need of accommodations should contact the Disability Services office. If you have a concern or complaint in this regard, please contact the Dean of Student Affairs at one of our locations. Complaints will be handled in accordance with the school’s Student Grievance Procedure for Internal Complaints of Discrimination and Harassment.

Organizations and Activities
Part of the learning experience is what happens outside of the classroom. South University encourages you to become involved in existing campus organizations and activities and to also form your own. If you have an idea for a campus group or activity, please contact the Office of Student Affairs to learn the appropriate steps to bring your idea to life.

Career Services
Staffed by experts with extensive knowledge of how organizations hire employees, our Career Services team provides you with an ally ready to help turn your hard work into a rewarding career. From helping you craft your résumé to conducting mock interviews to matching employers with qualified students, Career Services is just one more way South University remains focused on your total success.

Student Conduct
To ensure the best learning environment for all of our students, South University maintains a code for student conduct that applies to all students. If you have a question about our policies or a concern over a fellow student’s conduct, we encourage you to contact the Office of Student Affairs.
