Meet BSN and MSN Graduate Tiffany Taylor

Tiffany Taylor headshotTiffany Taylor is a Patient Care Manager at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama, and a two-time South University graduate. After spending several years in other healthcare roles, Tiffany earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at South University, Montgomery in 2023. As a BSN student, she was vice president of her cohort and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. After receiving her BSN, Tiffany then earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Specialization in Nurse Administrator through South University's online programs in 2025.

Why South University for an MSN Degree

“Based on my positive undergraduate experience, I chose to continue my education at South University for my MSN due to its flexible online format, strong nursing1 leadership curriculum, and continued support for working professionals,” Tiffany explains2.

While working toward her MSN, Tiffany worked as an RN in the Medical-Surgical Unit at Jackson Hospital. In addition to her work with patients, Tiffany soon became a preceptor and mentor to new RNs. “I would tell anyone considering South University that it is an excellent choice for professionals who want to grow without putting their careers on hold,” says Tiffany. “The faculty is supportive, the curriculum is relevant, and the program truly prepares you for leadership and advancement.”

Through her MSN program, Tiffany gained valuable skills in evidence-based practice, leadership, quality improvement, and healthcare system management and decision-making. What she learned has helped her advance in her career. “The program bridges theory and real-world application,” she says. “The coursework enhanced my confidence, critical thinking, and ability to lead teams effectively, which directly supported my transition into a Patient Care Manager role.”

In addition to the coursework, the people at South University were also a vital part of Tiffany’s educational experience. “The faculty and advisors at South University were supportive, accessible, and genuinely invested in my success,” she shares. “Their guidance, encouragement, and real-world insight played a key contribution in my growth as a nurse leader and helped me stay motivated through graduation.”

Advice from an MSN Graduate

If you’re thinking about going back to school or taking the next step in your career, Tiffany urges you to get moving. “Follow your dreams and do not limit yourself to what feels comfortable or normal,” she says. “Never remain in a position for years just to satisfy expectations. Step out, challenge yourself, and go after the career you truly want. Your education is a tool. Use it boldly.”

As for Tiffany, she is proud to have graduated with her MSN, but she still has more plans for her future. “It is not the end of my educational journey with South University,” she shares. “I plan to continue advancing my education beyond the MSN as I further develop my leadership vision and professional goals.”

As Tiffany keeps pushing herself forward, South University will be here cheering on her every move!
