In August, South University’s Tampa campus partnered with Project LINK to host a community health event, providing no-cost immunizations, physicals, and other essential health services to K-12 students in Hillsborough County. Over 200 visitors participated in preparation for the upcoming school year in the Tampa Bay area.
Project LINK was founded back in 1989 to give access to education and emotional wellness to children and families across the Tampa Bay area. Since their inception, they have served over 42,000 families who would have otherwise not had easy access to healthcare and wellness programs.
During the event, members of South University’s Physician Assistant (PA) and MSN & BSN Nursing students assisted in the delivery of the healthcare services under the direct supervision of campus faculty. This event provided students an opportunity to practice the hands-on skills and build connections within the community.
