South University, Columbia is proud to announce that one of its staff members, Synithia Weaver, is one of the 2026 SCBiz Emerging Leader Under 40 honorees. This honor celebrates professionals across South Carolina who demonstrate leadership, service, and impact within their organizations and communities.
The SCBiz is a digital and print platform that highlights business news, intelligence, events and recognition for businesses in South Carolina. The Emerging Leaders Under 40 event recently expanded from a region to the whole state of South Carolina, allowing for more individuals to be nominated as leaders in their fields. The awards ceremony celebrating all the honorees will occur at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center on October 20th, 2026.
Synithia Weaver works as the Veterans Affairs School Certifying Official at the Columbia campus. Her dedication to supporting military-affiliated students and veterans has positively impacted countless learners. She’s committed to student success, advocacy, and service which exemplifies the values of South University and the positive impact our many team members have across higher education.
