Question: How do I apply for Admission?

Answer: Students are required to apply through PharmCAS at They must choose one campus in which to apply—Savannah or Columbia. They must submit all transcripts and letters of recommendation to PharmCAS.

Question: I am an international student, am I eligible for your program?

Answer: Only students that are U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for admission. Permanent residents must provide a copy of their green card.

Question: When is the application deadline?


Application deadline is April 2, 2018.

Question: Is the PCAT required?

Answer: South University does not require the PCAT.

Question: I applied last year, do I have to resubmit letters of recommendation to PharmCAS?

Answer: Yes, all application materials must be resubmitted annually.

Question: What are the minimum requirements for admission?

Answer: A minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA is required and a 3.0 science GPA is recommended to be considered for admission to the program. However, last year our average cumulative GPA was a 3.23, science GPA was a 3.07 for students entering the Class of 2017.

Question: How do I schedule an interview?

Answer: You cannot schedule an interview; interviews are by invitation only.

Question: Do I have to complete a B.S. degree to be eligible for admission?

Answer: No, you must only complete the required prerequisite courses to be eligible for admission.

Question: What is the timeline for the admissions process?

Answer: We have a rolling admission process so applications are received between the months of July through April 2nd. Interviews occur between September and April. Students receive admission decisions within 2 weeks of their interview date.

Question: If I am accepted into the program what is required of me?

Answer: Students accepted into the program have 10 days from notification of acceptance to submit a signed acceptance agreement and $1000 non-refundable deposit. In addition, they must complete a CPR course, have original high school transcripts sent to South University or complete a high school verification form, complete all necessary immunizations, and supply a copy of their active health insurance card to the program. In addition, they must have a clear background check.

Question: What grade is required for credit for prerequisite courses?

Answer: Courses must be completed with a grade of 2.0 or better to be accepted.

Question: I have a degree from a non-U.S. institution and my credits have been evaluated by an evaluation service, will you accept these credits?

Answer: We will only accept coursework completed at an accredited U.S. institution.

Question: Will you accept coursework completed at a technical or community college?

Answer: Yes, as long as the institution is fully accredited.

Question: Will you accept courses taken online?

Answer: We will accept any course taken online from an accredited program, with the EXCEPTION of Biology and Chemistry labs. No online labs will be accepted.

Question: Do I need to have all of my prerequisites completed before I apply?

Answer: No, you can still be in the process of taking courses at the time of application; however, all prerequisites must be completed by the end of the Spring semester as our classes begin in June of each year.
