Master of Science in Leadership

South University, Richmond’s Master of Science in Leadership (MSL) degree is designed to help students elevate their leadership skills as they pursue this degree. As part of the leadership program, students will have the opportunity to practice their data analysis skills, management skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills. Through this training, students are expected to better understand how their decisions affect others on an organizational and individual level.
The Leadership program is offered as a hybrid course of online and on-campus learning. The hybrid model has online courses and meets in person once a week for more in-depth discussions.
The MSL program is offered as a hybrid course of online and on-campus learning which combines the independence of online learning alongside the engagement of in-person collaboration. The hybrid model meets in person once per course for more in-depth discussions.
South University, Richmond, and South University, Virginia Beach, are certified to operate in the Commonwealth of Virginia pursuant to Title 23, Chapter 21.1, §23-276.4 of the Code of Virginia by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (James Monroe Building, 101 North 14th St; Richmond, VA 23219; 804-225-2600; www.schev.edu).

5-week online courses with 1 on-campus, in-person class, which meets on a Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Admission Requirements
Admissions criteria for the Master of Science in Leadership (MSL)
Graduate Admissions - Masters level
Prospective students are required to submit the following:
- Completion of application for admission
- Official transcripts for bachelor or graduate degree within 5 weeks of the class start date (refer to Conditional Acceptance). (All credentials earned outside the United States must be evaluated by a NACES or AICE-member credential evaluation service). Please speak with an admissions representative for more information.

Specific requirements for admission to classified graduate status are:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Completion of application for admission.
- A 2.0 overall grade point average or higher on completed requirements for the baccalaureate degree, or an earned graduate degree from an accredited institution.

Course Requirements
All campuses operate on 10-week quarters. In May 2025 all campuses, except Online Programs, will offer a hybrid 10-week quarter program.
