Krista Stallworth

“Do not think twice about enrolling into South University,” says 2022 graduate Krista Stallworth, when asked what she would tell someone considering the school. “It's a great university that is interested in making sure you are well prepared for the career of your choice.”

For Krista, her career of choice has always been nursing. Ever since she was a little girl, it was what she wanted to do. When she played a vital role in helping with the care of her late great grandfather, it only further sparked and solidified her interest in the field.

Krista studied nursing at South University’s online programs, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree through our online RN to BSN program. A Registered Nurse Case Manager with UnitedHealth Group, Krista had initially heard about South University through two former nursing students. “They said nothing but great things,” she recalls.

Krista followed their recommendations and connected with the Admissions team at South University. Immediately, the staff showed compassion and excitement for her career goals from the very start. That high level of attention and care continued throughout her nursing program whenever she needed help or had questions. “South University has endless* resources that are available to each and every student to be utilized to your advantage,” she says.

Even when Krista had to take time off from schooling first for a pregnancy and then for the death of a family member, South University team members provided support and encouragement. “The staff is amazing! Not once did my advisors lose touch with me. If it wasn't for them, I would have never had the motivation to complete what I started,” Krista shares. “All my advisors are always one email or call away. The professors have an open door policy and are there to help which makes me feel more motivated to successfully complete classes.”

Now that Krista has her bachelor’s degree, she’s looking forward to growing her career and continuing to apply her clinical and professional skills to the benefit of her patients.

“South University prepared me for my career advancement by giving me the knowledge and skills critical to achieving success. Nursing is so special to me because I'm playing a role in helping my patients get back to their optimal health,” she says. “I love being an advocate and a voice for every patient I come in contact with.”
